Anual Meeting Of THE ANGOLAN STUDENTS IN THE U.S.A Dear Country-man: Time flies with amazing speed! Thus we already find ourselves on the eve of our annual meeting. The following are therefore some informations regarding to the forthcoming gathering: Date: The annual meeting of the Angolan students in the U.S.A. will convene at 9:00 a.m. September 8, 1966, and it will adjourn at 4:00 p.m. September 10, 1966. The last evening (Sept. 10th) will be dedicated to social activities and recreation. Place: The conference will probably he held at international House, in New York City. Further information will be forwarded to you in regard to this and other points related to the forthcoming meeting. Transportation: The organization will be in touch with your sponsors for the necessary arrangements concerning your transportation to and from the place of the meeting. We presume that the date for the meeting will fall between the end of the summer session and the beginning of the Fall period, and that it will fit to all of us. Crucial issues will be discussed at the foreseen meeting; hence your presence will be indispensable. There can be no hope for success of the coming conference unless you are willing to participate actively in it as a responsible member. Therefore we do trust that you will join the Angolan family in making decisions upon which the future of our organization will depend. You might be interested in knowing that one of the most active members of our organization - Ismael Martins - is now on his way back to Africa. He will be leaving today for Uganda, where he expects to complete his graduate work. I am quite sure that, now on, there will be some students finishing their courses and leaving for Africa every year. It is important therefore that we know each other well while we are still here. Such associations might be very beneficial to the future of our country in many ways. This is the reason why we have our periodical meetings to give you an opportunity os discussing our national problems with other Angolans. We are counting on you this time as we did in the past.
