Dear Comrades,

It is my humble duty to bring to your notice that the 3rd of August has been fixed by the Steering Committee of the All-African Peoples’ Conference as a day of solidarity with the patriots of Portuguese and Spanish territories in Africa.

In the interest of African Unity, it is hoped that you would embark upon an elaborate plan of action for the celebration of that day in support of our brothers who are struggling for National Independence and Human Rights.

We kindly ask you to send a protest to the Portuguese Government in Lisbon or in Angola denouncing the arrest of African Freedom Fighters by the Portuguese Government and to ask for the withdrawal of foreign troops from Angola.
